Hey Everyone ~
As I am snuggled down for a long winter's nap, wrong story but a good one as we keep getting closer and closer to Christmas and the New Year. In Sioux City on December 19, 2012, we are waiting to see how much snow we will get. We all saw the first couple of flakes in October but no accumulation not like what we are seeing tonight. Even as I sit in silent with the snow coming down, I am thinking about what is going on in the world. I don't need to talk about it, the negativity, we all know what is going on but I am going to talk about I think is the True Christmas spirit, at least for me.
My mom always taught us that Christmas is about giving to others that are less fortunate than we are, it could be as simple as making sure a young child has a christmas gift or a family has food for the hoildays. We always take a name from the salvation army, my mom and little sister always take a little girl and I always take a little boy, it is also away to play with the toys in the stores and drive my mother crazy. I always think about Christmas and Children - for whatever reason they just happen to go together for me.
So what does ToolDepot247.com do for Christmas ~ we have a secret santa, surprise Cherry Coke showing up and a couple of Christmas Trees for everyone's enjoyment. We don't do alot except enjoy the holidays with friends and family.

The Need for Warmth
Good Morning Everyone!!!
After being in the Caribbean for a week and then in Orlando, Florida for 3 days coming back to a windy cold Iowa is not all it is cracked up to be but I will regrow my Iowa skin (meaning lays and lots of them) I hear everyone talking about our Milwaukee Heated Jackets. Milwaukee is telling us that the New Milwaukee Red Jackets are selling all of the country, well guess what we have RED Jackets in Large, X-Large, 2X and 3X. We are getting a bit lower on the other Milwaukee Jackets but as of right now we have some smaller quantities in stock. These are while supplies last because Milwaukee is running out and we will not be able to get more this season.
We will also will Hi-Vis Jackets (Not Heated), Hi-Vis Gloves and Stocking Hats plus new Hi-Tech Bags with lights and away to plug in your MP3 player while on the job site and it will never have to leave your bag.
Tool Depot is also starting to think about Thanksgiving and Christmas ~ it is just right around the corner. Have you started your list yet? We have and we are dreaming about Milwaukee Fuel Kits, DeWalt Lithium, Makita Polishers and everything else in between.

Year in Review
Hey Everyone ~
I know that it is not New Years but our year has had a huge change, we have not forgotten but have learned to continue forward. It was not talked about much because of the shock of the situation but my father passed away October 15, 2011. So what has happened at Tool Depot and ToolDepot247.com? Not much has totally changed expect my mom has come more into the business and is learning more about the products and has made small changes in the company. We have added a newer website, opened up Tool Depot Spencer and started working on changing of our computer system for the company.
He was a great business man and a hardworker but he was a better father in teaching us how to work hard, put our family first and that without Respect for each other we had nothing to contribute on a whole. I started working at The New Sioux City Iron Company when I was 10 years old, I worked in the warehouse boxing up nuts and bolts - some days I hated being in the warehouse, I wanted to be outside with my friends riding bikes or swimming but now I appreciate all the lunches of peanut butter and jelly, chips and nutty bars that I got to spend with him. I spent 23 years with him, working with him everyday. Yes somedays are harder than others but in all I got a wonderful education about the business and the drive to continue forward from one of the BEST teachers I could ever have.
What is next in our plans? More of the same really. Finishing up with Harvest, the start of another woodworking season with new products at the stores and online.
In the stores we have already added exotic carving woods, added new clamps to our inventory and new items from Kreg Tool. We also have the new Milwaukee M12 Jackets instock and we are selling them in all of the Tool Depot locations and online.

New Heated Jackets
Hey Everyone
As suumer comes to a close, the kids start back up at school, the leaves start to change and we (especially in the midwest) start thinking about warm clothing. We think about jeans not shorts, sweatshirts with our t-shirts and of course....Jackets. Do we spend the money to get a new coat or will our old coat work just fine? Most people go with the 2nd option unless they are into the new coats that have all of the bells and whistles....
You are now asking what is this girl talking about....Well let me tell you what is new in My World of Power Tools and Clothing.
How about a M12 Heated Jacket? What are you talking about you say. We will have instock in the next couple of weeks. Red, Camo, Black and Hi-Vis (ANSI Class III) in a M12 heated jacket for the guys that like to Hunt, Football or anything else that takes place outside and you need to stay warm.
I am personally looking forward to a large black jacket for my trip to Iowa City (Go Hawks) to stay warm at the Nebraska - Iowa game!!!!

Hey Everyone....
What is new for April? The tool shows are over and were a wonderful success!!! The vendors, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, Festool, Jet, Makita and all of the others that joined us for 3 different shows in 3 different weekends in March - showed off their newest products.
For example: Milwaukee showed off the newest tool technology the M18 brushless motor, DeWalt is bringing out a new 20 volt brushless impactor, Irwin has a 24" and 48" lighted level - talk about something for everyone. Plus everything else that goes on in March. March Madness and Nascar Races.....
So onto April. What is going to be new?
To be honest I am not really sure....I'm still waiting for some of that news myself.

Hey Everyone
We have been having a crazy March in Sioux City, LeMars, Sioux Falls and Spencer....Who would of thought that we (with our crazy Iowa weather) would of been having a 68-88 degree weather. It is nice to think that spring is coming to our neck of the woods but makes you think about what type of summer will be having.
So what do we do to get ready for Spring.....first we pull out our Red shirts so we resemble the Robins that back in town. Second - we pull out our specialty cars...I personally prefer the Makita 9227CX3 Polisher to work on my everyday car (Black 4-door Wrangler) or the specialty cars in the garage......anything from the 1967 Chevelle Super Sport to the 2008 yellow vette!!!
Third we work on the gardens, cutting down trees....I still have the old Milwaukee Nicd Hatchet Sawzall because it is still like brand new and we have 6 batteries for it. Also while working in the garden comes fixing the fences. Which means pulling out a cordless drill (Bosch, DeWalt, Makita or Milwaukee) for me it means my M12 Milwaukee Pocket Driver does the trick.
Lately in the news, people have been talking about Pink Slime and bad mouthing Beef Products Inc. which is a locally owned company and that shops locally to support others in their community. We at The New Sioux City Iron Company and Tool Depot support BPI in fighting the negative comments from people that are uninformed about what BPI does to keep friends and family safe when eating products that are Lean Finely Textured Beef. We in the Siouxland area have been eating this products for many years. People need to listen to the company and not the lies that the media is spreading.
To a warm Spring and to finishing your products so all can enjoy summer to their fullests!!!!

Middle of Tool Shows
Hey Everyone!!!
March is the middle of tool shows at Tool Depot. Today I am in Spencer, Iowa bring you the hottest deals, the best reps in the business and the newest tool technology. We have had a great day dealing with DeWalt 13" Planers and sold a ton of their cordless tools. Milwaukee is promoting their new items in M18 Cordless and hand tools.
This week we finished up in Spencer by hanging up all of the signs so everyone can find all the wonderful products that we stock and other services we have like Sharpening Services and Tool Repair.
The Store in Spencer LOOKS AWESOME!!! Someone would of been very proud of the store and how well it all came together.

New Website
Hey Everyone
ToolDepot247.com had a busy busy Christmas month with the start of the New Website, we are still working on getting everything transfered over from the old site to the new site but I believe that we are looking better and better. With the start of the new graphics girl we have also got a great start up with the new ToolDepot247.com facebook page, the ToolGal - she is pretty cute, if I don t say so myself. :)
So what do we have planned for the new year? To be honest alot!!!
The new Tool Depot Store in Spencer, Iowa with be open every Saturday now starting January 14, 2012 and are continueing to add new items to the location on every trip that we make up there.
