As I am snuggled down for a long winter's nap, wrong story but a good one as we keep getting closer and closer to Christmas and the New Year. In Sioux City on December 19, 2012, we are waiting to see how much snow we will get. We all saw the first couple of flakes in October but no accumulation not like what we are seeing tonight. Even as I sit in silent with the snow coming down, I am thinking about what is going on in the world. I don't need to talk about it, the negativity, we all know what is going on but I am going to talk about I think is the True Christmas spirit, at least for me.
My mom always taught us that Christmas is about giving to others that are less fortunate than we are, it could be as simple as making sure a young child has a christmas gift or a family has food for the hoildays. We always take a name from the salvation army, my mom and little sister always take a little girl and I always take a little boy, it is also away to play with the toys in the stores and drive my mother crazy. I always think about Christmas and Children - for whatever reason they just happen to go together for me.
