ToolGuy with a Toolgal Hammer

Well Everyone -

The one man (The Toolguy) has been telling me that our Toolgal Hammers are just plain waste of time but today ended up having to use a Toolgal Hammer. I have the pictures to prove it. I know it is GREAT!!!!

So what is the Toolguy doing - he was fixing the antique filing cabinets in the office. One of the brass holders fell off and he need a hammer so I gave him one.

I also know of another man in town that I will call the "Italian Stallion" that stole his wife's Christmas gift, Toolgal Hammer with Leopard and Hot Pink all blinged up, to use it before she got to make sure it worked correctly.

If you are looking for a Blinged up Hammer, they are available at all of the Tool Depot Stores and will be on the site soon!!!

Write at you later

Biesemeyer Fence - Unisaw Reinvented Part 2

Hey Everyone

Continuing on with our trip through the plant, my favorite part was seeing how they build the Biesemeyer Fence (remember these are handmade in Jackson, TN). The Biesemeyer T-Square saw fence system comes with every Unisaw. The fence has a three point locking system that ensures the fence is precisely parallel to the blade and provides a clean cut accurate to 1/64" of an inch.

The 9-ply fence faces are manufactured to unmatched tolerances. They take additional steps in milling the wood faces to be parallel to the tubing. A durable layer of heavy-duty laminate is added to reduce friction, the improvements are also include a cam front lock lever withcurved edge so the snap of the positive lock can be felt. There is a strong magnet in the cam that keeps the handle in an upright position when the fence is not in use. Cradles located on the table board legs store the fence in a convenient location for quick access. The table board is available in both 36" and 52".

All of the fences are handmade and tested before they leave the plant to ensure the accuracy for the perfect continuous cut.

The Biesemeyer Outfeed table is designed with a completely with 14-ga steel so the table stays truer longer. The legs are interconnected for added strength. There is also an additional 4' x 44" workspace for the shop.

There is also a new feature that many are not talking about - How about the new Premium Woodworking Blades...Delta is coming out with a new line of 10" Circular Saw Blades ~ These will be released after the Unisaw's are released. They are including a 10" 50T Wood Saw Blade with the purchase of the Saw.

The Unisaw with Biesemeyer Fence is Mapped (Manufactures Advertised Purchase Price) is $2995.00.

This saw is pretty impressing ~ keep a look out for more information.

New Delta UniSaw

Hey Everyone

Well we at Tool Depot and Tool Depot247.com have been busy with new products that our vendors are bring out this year. To start off with we (the Toolguy and I) were invited to Jackson, TN to see the Porter Cable/Delta Warehouse. This was an awesome event for us to go too. We saw the NEW Delta UniSaw that was Re-Invented!!!!

A bit of history about the Unisaw - The first Unisaw turned the industry upside down in 1938 with the first 10" Tilting arbor saw. This saw was the choice for woodworkers, furniture makers and cabinet installers.

So why did Delta feel that it was time to upgrade the Unisaw?

Why ~ that is kind of an easy question to answer, the Tablesaw is the starting focal point to a woodworker's workshop, the tablesaw is the most important part of the workshop. More important than the bandsaw, planer, scroll saw or the jointer (all of these are important but to create the best product you need to start with the best cut you can).

The new Unisaw is pretty awesome, the saw is 99.5% made in the United States with a single-cast Trunnion System while the previous saw had a 3 piece Trunnion. So what does this mean for You the consumer, Enhanced Vibration Control, Dual Front Cranks, Continuous Smooth Operation and Dependable Accuracy.

One of the biggest changes from the older Unisaw to the newer Unisaw is the SURE-LOCK dual front cranks. With the relocation of the blade height and bevel cranks to the front of the saw you can operate the saw with ease. Plus twist the center of either crank to engage the SURE-LOCK cranks to elimate errors that can be caused if the cranks are hit or bumped out of alignment.

They also added the new Precision bevel gauge that is easy to read and accurate to 1/4 degree. If the gauge ever falls out of alignment, there is a very easy fix ~ grab an allen wrench to fine-tune the blade bevel which means no more fumbling around in the cabinet for adjustments.

I think the coolest part of the new Unisaw is the cabinet construction that is Domestically-made with heavy gauged shet meal that is rock-solid and has unmatched stability. There is also more Work Surface Area, they increased the area from the front of the blade to the front of the saw to 15" for greater control. The space behind the blade is also wider and deeper for increased stability when running larger pieces of wood through the saw.

Now about the Power!!! The Unisaw now comes with a User-Requested Marathon Motor, which is an American Motor Manufacture that has a proven track record in both industrial and woodworking applications. The motor will be available in 3 & 5 HP configurations.

There is now a Larger Throat Plate Opening and Arbor Lock. A Robust on/off switch. The multi-directional off switch can be activated from any angle making it easier and aafer to use.

How about storage for your Unisaw so you can find the accessories for your Unisaw? They got that handled as well with a storage drawer that has 5 slots to saw blades. Cool, well there is more ~ It can also hold 2 riving knives, an arbor nut flange, the entire rise and fall split guard assembly, push stick, arbor wrench & throat plate. The new Unisaw comes with 1 drawer but you can purchase more drawers to be added to Unisaw. They also added a built-in storage for the BIESEMEYER fence and for the deluxe miter gauge directly on the body of the saw.

You probably are wondering about Dust Extraction ~ The new design captures dust from beneath the blade and from the bottom of the cabinet at the same time. The new dust shroud directly below the blade and the tightly sealed cabinet interior.

So if you have a tablesaw now do you use the Guard on the saw. I am guessing not but you will use the NEW Tool-Free Split Guard Design. This system has atrue rise-and-fall riving knife that incorporates components that can be easily added or removed depending on the application.

Well there is more to the New Delta Unisaw Reinvented and it is the best part ~ The BIESEMEYER fence!!!

Remember Tool Depot Sioux City and Sioux Falls is open on Saturday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and in LeMars from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.

The Saws are not to be released until end of March begining of April but I will keep you posted on all of it.

Remember check back later tomorrow and we will talk more about the BIESEMEYER fence and the improvements made from the old to the new.

New Wing Ladder

Hey Everyone ~ There has been so much going on lately, one of the main things that stick out in my mind is there is one thing. It is the new Revolution XE wing ladder, this ladder is so light. It is made out of aircraft aluminum which means it is heavy duty but light. This ladder is also made in the United States and not in China and is trademarked, so it can't be copied or duplicated.

The Sioux Falls Store is open for business, we are still working on getting the quantities up to the store but we totally have the depth that most people dont see up there. We also have the "Toolgal" Hammers in Sioux Falls, so if you are looking for a unique item to give your Toolgal we have it available.

More to come soon from Bosch and Milwaukee
Keep in Touch for all the new tools.

Busy Busy Busy

As you know from the last blog we were loading the store and working on getting the computers and printers up. Here is the good news if you know what you are looking for the store is open, what this means if you need a new Milwaukee Drill Driver with Hammer mode you can go and get one. If you just want to look around, you will have to wait!!!

Would you like to know when you will have to wait for? Well I could tell you or string you along over the course of the next couple of days/weeks, maybe I will just tell you at the end of the post.

We have been receiving the new V18 and V12 "M" series tools from Milwaukee. We have them all and they are awesome. Starting with the V18 tools, they are so compact, smaller and lighter than the old style tools. They also have a smaller lithium 18 volt battery. It has more run time then the smaller battery that the MIL2601-22 has.

On the V12 - I have to say the new Milwaukee Hacksaw is the cutest, I mean, the most rugged and manly tool I have seen for its size. (:-)~ I also like the V12 compact 1/4" impact driver which we purchased as a Bare Tool, which has no batteries or charger, just the Tool. The Tubing Cutter is pretty cool as well but I dont know how well it will sell. This will be a biggest seller with the plumbers that need to cut pipe for bigger jobs.

I dont get why we have not been selling the Combo Kit with the 12 Volt Drill with the M Spector, (2) Batteries, Charger and Case. The M Spector has a lot more features then the Ridgid and has a longer battery life since it uses the Milwaukee V12 Lithium-ion battery.

Ok ~ I have kept everyone in the dark long enough about the New Store in Sioux Falls, South Dakota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you curious yet???

Ok I will tell you what is going on ~~ From the owners mouth to my ears ~~ He has promised me that on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 the Open Sign will be on and everyone and anyone will be able to go inside and go Shopping. Please dont be disappointed as we still have some work to be done. For example we will be adding 2 more Round Head Nailers to the store, we have not received welding equipment yet or all of the jacks and hoists from Jet Equipment but they are ordered.

Different from our Sioux City Store, we have the full line of Wright Tools,. We have also changed from Freud to CMT USA and Amana Tools for Router Bits. I hope you enjoy your shopping on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 ~ WE open at 7:30 am, if you have any questions ask someone in a red shirt. I will keep you posted on how the day went.

Keep on reading and I will keep bringing you the lastest on what is going on in the Tool World and at Tool Depot!!!

What going on at Tool Depot!!

Well it has been a while since I have blogged about what is going on at Tool Depot. BOY have we been busy, Sioux Falls - we are still loading up the new store with product but are still having problems with the computers from what I have been told the printers/computers will be up and running on Firday - I guess we will just have to see.

We also have the second set of Hammers at the Sioux City Tool Depot - All kinds of different colors - Purple, Red, Yellow, Greens, Black, Orange and Pinks - The most popular was the Princess Hammer - which was Pink and Silver with Spoiled Rotten on it!!!

Well Milwaukee has told us all about the new tools that they say are coming out on October 1. We have also purchased the new M12 tools, which are Lithium-ion V12 Tools that work off the same battery as the MIL2401-22 - Milwaukee 12 Volt Pocket Driver.
We purchased the Hackzall (looks like a small Sawzall) but they are calling it a Hack like a Hacksaw. The 2nd Tool was a 12 Volt Tubing Cutter - this is a copper tubing cutter. The 3rd Tool was a 1/4" Hex Impact Driver. They have also come out with the flashlight that works off the smaller Lithium-ion Battery.

We have also ordered the new M18 and I will write them this weekend!!!

Hammers

Hey Everyone

There is alot going on at the Tool Depot, getting ready for the new store etc. We are also getting alot of price changes again, some of the items going up is Freud Router Bits and Saw Blades, Ridgid Tools, Pipe Wrenches, Pipe Dies etc. so look for some increase prices for the second time this year.

I have had some emails about the hammers, yes it is a gimmick but for a woman who enjoys having her own tools. It is not for every women that is out there but it is to be given as gifts to women that enjoy have a converation piece in a drawer or on a desk. I have also seen how a woman to reacts receiving something fun and personalize to her style.

I hope everyone comes in and checks out the hammers in person, this is just something we are trying and if it gets a awesome response we will continue but Tool Depot is about having a huge variety of products, that is why we are for the Amateur to the Pro.

Just another thought - Remember Tool Depot loves gimmicks of all kinds - woodworking, metalworking!!!

Write at you laters :-)

June

Hey Everyone - Sorry it took so long for me to get back on here to update everyone on what is going on!!!

To start off we have some great deals going on in the store:

One we have the DeWalt DW744X on special for $499.00 with a free 10" DeWalt Blade

We are also promoting the Bosch Pocket Impactor for $194.00 there is also a Free Mail-in Rebate.

DeWalt is also promoting their Nano 18 Volt Combo Kit.

Milwaukee is promoting their V18 Lithium-ion Combo Kits with a Free Mail-in Rebate for their Vacuum.

So the BIG QUESTION what is going on in Sioux Falls:

Memorial Weekend

So what does the Toolgal do on Memorial Weekend, well on Saturday of course the store is open and we are busy selling machines...We also were busy last week thinking about what we want to promote for the rest of May - With the help of the girls at Tool Depot we came up with the following:

4000-09 Bosch Tablesaw with gravity feed stand normally we sell it for 549.00 - right now we are selling it for $519.00 with a FREE, yes I said FREE 10" Pro 60T Circular Saw Blade which has over a $54.99 Value.

MIL2401-22, Milwaukee V12 Pocket Driver - $116.95

Those are the hottest deals right now especially the first one.

Sorry everyone but I am gong to give my opinion because that is what a blog is about:

We keep hearing that the country is in a recession: but I have to say Sioux City, LeMars and Sioux Falls we are not having that problem. In the past 5 years that I have been working on the purchasing for the Tool Depots this is the busiest I have ever been, yes we are opening up a new location so that is part of the problem but Sioux City is hopping and maybe it is because we have the products in stock, enough for everyone that is needing grinding wheels, drill bits (I have been ordering more Morse Cutting Drill Bits than I order the first 2 months of the year), people are not purchasing the power tools and are fixing what they have but the accessories are going out the door as fast as we can get them in!!! Ok that is all I am going to say.

So to finish out the Sunday, the Toolgal was working out in her garden fixing her hose (too much water pressure) taking a nap in the backyard and watching the Nascar race, sucks that my driver did not win but there is always next week.

If you are in Sioux City, Wednesday the flowers will be in so be watching for the colors!!!

Talk to you later
Toolgal :-)~

P.S. We are are Closed for Memorial Day but open back up on Tuesday...Watch for the June Specials coming next week.
